Korea 2: Gramps Crib and O.D. walking.

So I couldn't write my entry the other day because I was staying over at my Grandpa's crib. I'll explain that a lil bit later. But now, I'll start off from when I left the PC Bang. So my dad and I walked back home and chilled for a while. After an hour, we all got into a van to go to a kalbi place. I started to feel seriously drowsy. I slept on the way to the van and then arrived to the restaurant. My parents woke me up and I felt so bugged out. I like, stumbled into the restaurant and got to the table. When I sat down, I was struggling to stay awake and kept on dozing on and off. My whole family was laughing at how I couldn't get myself together. After the kalbi was cooked, I slowly started to get myself together and ate. Next thing I know, I'm wide awake and I'm eating a ton of kalbi. I learned something really interesting at the end of the meal. People in Korea don't tip. Tipping isn't normal in Korean restuarants, so nobody does it. So then my family and I went back home and slept.

The next morning, my parents, my sister, and I woke up and left to go to my Grandpa's apartment. My mom kept on telling me how my Grandpa's place is nice since it's a "penthouse". We all got to the place and did our bows to my Grandpa. My Grandpa's seriously healthy for his age. He smokes like a demon and he's 83. We all went down and went to the duck restaurant next door. It turns out that the owner of the restaurant is my dad's old high school friend. My dad called the place before we left to let the owner know we were gonna go there soon. Now the duck was grilled the same way kalbi is cooked. For some reason, the duck tasted like ham, but it was still good. I ate it with a lot of garlic, and at the end of the meal, my sister complained about how bad my breath smelled. My mom didn't have any gum with her, so I had to go through the day with a hint of garlic in my mouth. After eating the duck, we all went back to the apartment and stayed for a couple of minutes. My sister and I looked around the place and found something very interesting. So there's an area with open space outside. There's this big green contraption with a small floor. Turns out it was an elevator. My grandpa had his own small elevator. It goes up to the roof of the apartment with a great view of the town. After my little tour, my family took a taxi to Lotte Mart. We stopped at a Dunkin Donuts near the entrance and ate some stuff there. The donuts there tasted incredibly bad and fake. The sprinkles weren't even sprinkles. They were like colored sugar. Oh, and an epic fail moment happened to me when I tried to buy the donuts. The story is in a video that I'll post later when I come back from Korea.

So my family just walked around Lotte Mart. The only thing we bought was food and toothbrushes, since we forgot to bring ours to my Grandpa's place. We bought a lot of candy, like "My chew" and "Sekom Dalkom". It started to rain like crazy outside, so we chilled in an underground shopping center until we decided to run outside and look for a taxi. I tripped twice on the stairs since it was slippery LOL. Fml. We got into a taxi and went back to Gramp's place. My parents took a nap in an air conditioned room. My sister and I just chilled there, talking and stuff. My sister told me to do some push-ups, but I was too lazy. Then, I told her that if I did 15 straight push-ups, she had to do 5. She agreed, and I did them. So then my sister tried, and fell down on her first. I let her do the push ups with her knees on the floor. She was still struggling. -___-...She managed to do them, with a lot of struggle inbetween each push-up. We then watched some TV with the Grandpa. We were eating these huge purple grapes with no seeds. It tasted pretty awesome. Then, my sister and I took a nap with my sister on my parent's bed and me on the floor. After...I don't know how long I was napping. Anyways, my sister woke me up and told me that it was dinner time. I was in the same mood as I was when I was in the kalbi restaurant. During the meal, my aunt and my uncle commented on how good my dancing was. Apparently, my cousin from New Jersey recorded me one day and went to Korea to my Grandpa's place. He showed everyone LOL. So I ate dinner as fast as I could to go to sleep as soon as possible.

The next morning, I took a shower and got ready to leave. I said my goodbyes to my Grandpa and went to Myung-Dong to do some crazy ass walking. Myung-Dong is like, really busy with a lot of small shops. I thought I would see a lot of pretty girls there, since it was a shopping area. There wasn't. I have officially given up looking for pretty girls in Korea. I also noticed a lot of the girls in Korea are really tall. Like legit, tall. And a lot of them wear heels. My sister usually questions how the girls can wear heels everyday. We found a really big Forever 21 store and my mom and my sister went inside while my dad and I waited outside. It started to smell outside, and my sister and my mom took forever to come out. We all started to walk like crazy, looking around while some people were trying to make us buy some crap. My mom bought dog clothes for Chorong and LuLu (my dogs). She tried to lower the price, but the woman who was selling the clothes refused LOL. We talked for another.....5000 miles and went to a restaurant. It was a japanese restaurant that had ddonkatsu. Before giving us the food, they gave us a mortar and pestle with sesame seeds inside. If you don't know what a mortar and pestle is, google it. We're supposed to mash up the seeds and put the ddonkatsu sauce inside. It tasted pretty good, and we left afterwards. We took the train back with my foot all bruised up from walking with converses. Converses are really uncomfortable. I don't like wearing them for a long time. We walked back home, but stopped by a store that sells door locks. They had those electronic numberpads that were all fancy-shmancy. My dad asked if they could be used with doors in America. The person selling them said that someone had to put the lock in for them, but nobody would travel from Korea to America just to install the lock. I felt pretty upset. I wanted one of those on my door. It would be pretty damn sweet. We all got home, and collapsed. I was so glad to be back. I love my grandma's house <3. So now, I'm here. It's thunderstorming right now. It's kinda loud. I'm scared.

Korea 1.

So if you guys didn't read my facebook status, I'm going to write about my day for every single day while I'm in Korea. Well, I'll try to, if my cousin's computer will be available. And it probably will be since he's at school and hagwon . Haha, but right now, I'm writing this at a PC Bang. When I came in here, I looked at the posters on the sides of the wall. I recognized almost NONE OF THE GAMES AT ALL. Then when I looked through the games I could possibly play, none of them gave me any interest...at all. And it took me and my dad a surprisingly long time to look for one PC Bang. I did locate one earlier today, but my dad said I couldn't go there. I said "Why?" and he said "Because the word 'sung-in' was before it". Then I was like "...Well what does that mean...." and he said "Adult". I got the idea right away. Luckily, we found a place a minute after that, and now we're both in here...not playing games LOLLL. You guys are probably wondering why I'm wasting time writing this at a PC Bang. I'm just wasting money right? Well my dad told me that one hour here is equivalent to about 70 cents, so its all good. . Anyways, I guess I'll start the story from when I was going to leave...whoa hold on, my dad just brought this iced coffee thing with some caramel on top. Orgasm in my mouth. It tastes better than the Iced Caramel latte at D.D...but even better. And it cost two bucks. Korea <3. Anyways.

I couldn't get much sleep the night before the flight. I was too excited and anxious about the trip, so I just moved around my bed from 2-3 A.M. Then I couldn't sleep so I grabbed my psp and played Tekken 5 for two hours before my eyes started hurting. I ended up sleeping for five hours, and my eyes were burning when I woke up. Skip about 12 hours and I'm waiting in the airport to go to Korea. Last week, when my sister and my grandma went, the line wasn't that long to check in the luggage. Now, there was a freaking huge line for the check-in. I was not happy, but I just dealt with it and got on the line. Then after all the crappy process, I'm with my parents waiting in front of the gate. Now my dad was freaking tired as hell, so he took off his shoes, walked to a round table with no one sitting there, and put his head down and slept like a typical senior high school student. I actually took a picture of him when he was sitting on the seats and slightly dozing off. But since I'm at a PC Bang, I can't upload it. W/e, just check facebook whenever I post photos.

Anyways, after an hour of waiting, we all go into the airplane. My ticket got mixed up cause of some weird shiznit, so I'm in a totally different seat from my parents. My mom said she would take my seat though, so I just sat with my dad. I love my mom <3. So it was 12:30 A.M. when the flight started. I somewhat felt tired but my dad immediately knocked out. Legit. I tried to go to sleep, but I just wasn't feeling that tired. During one of my attempts, I open my eyes to find out that the stewardesses were already serving dinner. I was about to ask, but I was lazy and she was too far. Oh well, no bibimbap for me. So I just checked my In-flight entertainment system. I went through the games and found tetris. There's like a little controller attached to the side of my armrest. It wasn't that bad, but the buttons felt all weird since I was too used to playing with a keyboard. Oh yea, before the day of my flight, I asked two of my friends to write me a plane letter. Actually, a friend and a biatch. It was Sophia Kim and Iris Kim, respectively. I liked Sophia's letter because it was entertaining and gave me feelings of nostalgia from when we first met. She also told me some funny things that happened to her when she was in Korea. Iris letter...half of the letter was parts of our old AIM conversations. Half. Legit. But somehow, I thought it was a good letter. Except for the part when she asks for shit. She had guidelines for me to follow with the gift. I'll just say it was ridiculous. And not only did Iris write a "P.S" or "P.P.S.", she wrote up to "P.P.P.P.P.S". Retarded? Maybe, just maybe. My eyes started to hurt again so I attempted to fall asleep. I think I slept for 2 hours and then stayed up a lil while. Then breakfast was being served. The stewardess asked me if I wanted omellette. I said yes, and just took it. It wasn't that bad, compared to all the crap I hear about airplane food. Then, in the middle of the meal, I see another person eating Green Tea Juuk (porridge). Then I remember my friend telling me the day before the flight to try the green tea juuk because it was really good. FML. The stewardesses in my flight were pretty. Not like amazing, but not that bad either. Yea, you guys were pretty curious about that. Just pointing it out.Omg I remember the urge I had to stretch my legs like crazy. And my butt hurt, no matter how comfortable I sat. I watched one movie during the flight, and it was "Seven Pounds" with Will Smith. I thought it was a pretty thought provoking film. After FINALLY LANDING THE DAMN AIRPLAINE, I got up and and walked out to the exit. I caught a glimpse of the seats in Prestige Class. Freaking amazing. One day, I will be there. One day.

So I got out of the plane, and there was a long line for people that were transferring to a different flight or just picking up the luggage. So I got to the front, and I handed my papers to the dude while he was wearing a surgical mask. Just seeing that made me feel so freaking intimidated. He then proceeded to take out this weird device and place it on the back of my ear. A few seconds later, it makes a beeping noise and he told me to move on. I was like "Did he implant a freaking chip in me or something?" Then my parents explained that it was to take my temperature, to make sure I wasn't sick. It was freaking awesome. I want one of those. No more damn thermostats under the tongue. So after picking up all the luggage, my uncle greets us at the entrance. We bring our stuff do his van, and we head off to Seoul. The airport was at Incheon, so the ride took about an hour. Man, the road was so empty since it was 3:30 A.M. Omg, I remember seeing so many churches during the drive. Not even lying. I saw at least 20 red neon-lit crosses on top of buildings. They were like stars in the sky LOLL. And a lot of freaking apartments too. A whole lot.

Btw people, I'm talking to this girl right now named Jess through AIM. She's "cool". Just a fun fact for you guys.

So my parents and I arrive at my grandma's apartment. I walk in and have a feeling of nostalgia from the last time I went there, which was about 8 years ago. My grandma was up for some strange reason, and it was about 5 am when I got there. Strange, but w/e. I walk into my grandma's room to find my sister knocked out on the stone bed. My mom shakes her to wake up, and she nags...as usual. My grandma makes breakfast and we eat it at 6:30 LOL. I just chilled for a while. I went on my sister's macbook. There's some wi-fi available, but most of the time it doesn't work at all. This scared me because I thought I woulnd't be able to use the internet at all during my stay here. Then I remembered about my younger cousin, who's four years younger than me, that was sleeping in a different room. Since he had school, he woke up at like 7:30. It was like a test day today, so he was going to leave school early. Omg, when I saw him, I got so shocked. He's so freaking tall, almost my height, and he's as skinny as a stick. And his voice is so awkward LOLL. It cracks sometimes. Just imagine a Sanghyun, and then blend in Spencer Ahn's voice. That's kinda my cousin right there LOL. But he's a sweet fella, just quiet most of the time. I took a shower and went out with my grandma, mom, and my sister. My dad was knocked out in another room. We walked to Lotte Mall, or Lotte Baek Ha Jum for you fluent korean speakers. There were nine freaking floors. We just went up and down the escalators most of the time. We bought some bread stuff at a bakery. We then ate at the food court place. I had this bootleg beef quesadilla with some kick-ass sauce. The quesadilla was SPICY AS HELLLLLLL. THEY HAD JALAPENOS IN THEM. So I drank water, which made me feel like exploding. So we were done, and we ended buying nothing but food. Sweet . We took a taxi back to the apartment (Thank the Lord) and just chilled in the apartment. Then my mom saw my bored, tortured body, and told my dad to go to PC Bang with me. He said Ok, and I mouthed the words "I love you" to my mom. Mama Park <3. So yea, I guess that's my entry for today. Damn...its pretty long. Hopefully it won't be like this everyday. Right now my dad is playing Starcraft Campaign Mode right next to me. Maybe all those hours of watching downloaded videos of proffesional starcraft matches will finally pay off for this man. LOL Some Korean guy is yelling and telling his friend what to do on Starcraft LOLLL. Korean stereotypes FTW. Until next time, peace.

It has....been a while. I was reading a couple of my old posts here and wow....I can't believe how consistent I was on that thing. These days, I'm too busy for xanga cause of school or I'm just being too lazy. I think I'm going to try to come back to xanga, but I don't know how consistent I could be. And no, I don't want to answer any more questions(sorry Andrew haha). Maybe I'll just write about my days just like how I started. I guess I'll start tomorrow since it's too early right now to talk about my day.
